Such flagrant anti-Soviet bias was unacceptable, and the choice of pigs as the dominant class was thought to be especially offensive. The novel is about a group of animals who take control of the farm on which they live and out throw humans. It also is about the fact that equality is not possible.
In the following years, Stalin succeeded in becoming the unquestioned dictator of the Soviet Union and had Trotsky expelled first from Moscow, then from the Communist Party, and finally from Russia altogether in Stalin, a crafty and manipulative politician, soon banished Trotsky, an idealistic proponent of international communism.
I suppose the Farm is a microcosm of a society, whether it is more than that, the world perhaps, I could not say.
Although the first edition allowed space for the preface, it was not included,  and as of June most editions of the book have not included it. Orwell makes a scathing critique on political idealism, and shows that there may be no such thing.

There are a couple flashbacks when the animals think about how Jones actually treated them compared to how they are being treated on Animal farm. The simplicityof language in the book and the usage of animals to convey themessage made it a prime candidate for a cartoon version and thusone was created.
I have since re read it. The pigs start to resemble humans, as they walk upright, carry whips, and wear clothes. Snowball teaches the animals to read and write, while Napoleon educates young puppies on the principles of Animalism. Eventually, these are replaced with the maxims, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others", and "Four legs good, two legs better!
